Today’s Raiffeisen FIS Challenge Races on Piz Sella in Gardena/Gröden ended with two Austrian treble victories. Thomas Mayrpeter won the Super-G as well as the Super-Combi, and in both races ahead of his fellow country-men Mario Karelly and last year’s winner Patrick Schweiger.
The 21-year-old won the Super-G with a time advantage of 42/100 seconds ahead of Karelly and 1.10 seconds ahead of Schweiger. Mayrpeter then proceeded to finish the subsequent Super-Combi with a total time of 2:13.90 minutes which was 33/100 and 77/100 seconds faster than the second and third placed, respectively.
