New Symbol for World Cup Val Gardena/Gröden

World Cup Val Gardena/Gröden will bear a new symbol starting in summer 2014. The dynamic blue and gold star which was created by a well-known agency in 2007 and since then stood for the world renown ski races, was integrated into a blue stylized "G" representing Val Gardena-Gröden.

The “G” symbolizes the valley with its culture and history as well as the most important economic sector, tourism along with its dedicated institutions.

The star in "G" symbolizes excellence and passion: both for the athletes in practicing the sport and for the organization in hosting FIS World Cup races. The gold-colored ideal line can be identified within the star and is running on the Saslong course where athletes are offering highly skilled performances sometimes rising to be true heroes. To this end, an innumerable number of dedicated workers supply the ideal platform.

Hundreds of volunteers have contributed with dedication, know-how, and enthusiasm to make the events in Val Gardena/Gröden a success. They can all identify themselves with this new symbol, developed by designer Wilco Lensink in close cooperation with Saslong Classic Club Gröden.

In the last five decades, Val Gardena/Gröden has hosted over 70 international races, the 1970 World Championships and the 1975 World Cup Finals.
