The Raif-feisen FIS Challenge races on Piz Sella have been dominated by the Austrians: 2013 ended with two Austri-an triple victories. Thomas Mayrpeter won the Super-G and Super-Combi, both times ahead of his fellow country men Mario Karelly and Patrick Schweiger, who won two years ago. Best Italian skiers were Paolo Pangrazzi (7th in Super-G) and Henri Battilani (5th in Super-Combi). “The FIS races in Val Gardena/Gröden have been valuable” says Race Director Rainer Senoner, adding: “they serve as a platform for our youngest athletes to join the Ski World Cup and maybe we’ll be able to see some of them on the Saslong soon.”
