Equipped for emergencies

The directing coordinator Othmar Prinoth explains in detail how first aid interventions work on the pistes.
We’re all hoping that this weekend will run smoothly but it’s comforting to know that Othmar Prinoth and his team are highly equipped and ready for any unfortunate situation that may come up.
“We’ve got 14 intervention stations along the piste and 7 doctors with all the necessary equipment, just in case something happens”, explains Prinoth.  A small helicopter will take any injured athletes down to the arrival area where our “normal” helicopter will be waiting.  In the case of a serious injury, the small helicopter will then fly directly to the hospital in Bolzano.
