Rahlves, fastest in the first timed practice run
American, Daron Rahlves had best time at the first session of the timed practice runs for the Downhill in Val Gardena.
Rahlves’ time was 1.58,34 which was only two hundredths of a second faster than last year’s winner, Antoine Deneriaz from France. Third place was given to Austrian, Michael Walchhofer (+0,32 sec). The surprise of the day came when American, Byron Friedman took fourth place (+0,47 sec). Kristian Ghedina ( Italy) is seventh with 76/100, and the two Austrians, Hermann Maier (+1,13) and Stephan Eberharter (+1,66), are farther behind. The best skier from Alto Adige, Peter Fill is eleventh with 1,31 seconds.
