Forerunner, Renè Crazzolara from Alta Badia, took a injurious fall in the straight run to the finish area. After the first medical treatments on sight, he was taken to hospital in Bozen/Bolzano. Judges were forced to stop the race, although Peter Fill had already started. After a 20 minute suspension, the race got back on schedule.
